Q? WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS FOR USE OF MERRYVALE?
A. Merryvale is on the cutting edge of venue use fees. Day Rental Fee - This is the typical venue use for people who want to DIY. However we include an onsite/day of coordinator for your event. This person will make sure your wedding is coordinated to start and end on time, make sure your music plays during the ceremony and keep your time line on track. This is not a wedding designer so we encourage you to engage one of our designers at a reduced rate or hire an outside professional wedding designer.
Q? WHAT DOES THE DAY RENTAL FEE INCLUDE?
A. The rental fee includes full access to the private 5 acre country estate, 3000 sq. ft. main house, beautiful pool with limestone waterfall, on-site facility manager, up to 12 hours of rental time, one hour rehearsal the day prior to your event, free engagement photos session with your photographer, bride’s dressing suite with fully equipped salon, grooms den, family dressing suite, caterers kitchen, parking for up to 150 cars and a bus turn around, 3 outdoor restrooms with 1 ADA approved facility, tables and chairs for up to 200 guests, ceremony sound system and full lighting package with festoon lights and chandeliers.
Q? WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS YOU CAN ACCOMMODATE?
A. The Merryvale can comfortably seat 300 guests in our two most popular ceremony sites. Clients may also set the stage with a dance floor, with guests seated outside under our mantel of towering oaks! And we have small intimate sites that can seat up to 50 of your family and friends.
Q? HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU ALLOW FOR AN EVENT?
A. Our standard rental agreement provides full access to Merryvale for 12 hours, including vendor setup and teardown.
Q? CAN WE CHOOSE OUR OWN VENDORS?
A. Yes. Our “really cool vendors” are highly recommended, so we encourage you to check them out (and save yourself some time!)
Q? CAN WE BRING IN OUR OWN ALCOHOL?
A. Yes! You are allowed to bring your own alcohol or have it delivered the day of your event. NOTE: All alcoholic beverages must be served by a TABC certified bartender.
Q? CAN YOU “FLIP” THE ROOMS THROUGHOUT EVENT?
A. Yes. It is common to use one space for multiple purposes (ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, etc.) throughout your event.
Q? ARE THERE AREAS WE WON’T HAVE ACCESS TO?
A. Guests are welcome anywhere on the property except the pool.
Q? WILL WE NEED TO BRING SOUND EQUIPMENT?
A. We do provide ceremony sound equipment and we are electrically equipped for any audio and visual production needs you may require. Typically, a DJ or band prefers to bring in their own equipment.
Q? IS THERE A NOISE ORDINANCE?
A. Hays County does restrict amplified sound that cannot exceed 75 decibels or be audible beyond the Merryvale property line.
Q? WHAT IS THE MAIN HOUSE LIKE?
A. We offer a gorgeous bridal suite with a fully equipped hair and make-up salon and floor length mirrors. A groom's den with flat screen and access to the pool and a family dressing suite for the rest of the group!
Q? WILL OUR GUESTS HAVE TO PAY TO PARK? IS VALET AVAILABLE?
A. Merryvale offers a bus turn around and parking for up to 150 cars. Guest parking is complimentary. Valet services are available for hire and we have great recommendations on our preferred vendor list!
Q? IS LODGING AVAILABLE?
A. We have a bed and breakfast right next door. The main house sleeps 10 and the bridal cottage...well it sleeps two!
Q? DO YOU ALLOW CLIENTS TO BRING IN DÉCOR? CANDLES/OPEN FLAME?
A. Clients are allowed to bring their own decorations and open flames are allowed, contingent upon county-imposed burn ban restrictions.
Q? IS THIS A SEASONAL VENUE?

Q? DO YOU HOST MULTIPLE EVENTS PER DAY?
A. We guarantee that your wedding will be the only event happening at Merryvale on your special day.
Q? IS MERRYVALE PET FRIENDLY?
A. The property is not fenced so your furry child must be on a leash. We ask that you bring all of the accommodations your pet will need and that he or she is up to date on vaccinations. They are not allowed inside the venue at any time and must have a caretaker throughout the time you spend at the venue.
